“Ingredients”

ANNCR: You’ve probably read the list of ingredients on your cereal box or soda can… but how about your E-Cigarette? Use of E-Cigarettes doesn’t only put you at risk of a nicotine addiction. According to the CDC, it could expose you to the same cancer-causing chemicals found in cigarette smoke… like formaldehyde. And even toxic metals, like lead and nickel. What’s more … teens who vape are actually more likely to start smoking cigarettes, according to Truth Initiative. The smartest choice is a lifestyle free from all smoking, including E-Cigarettes. “3 Strikes”

ANNCR: The dangers of E-Cigarettes may not be fully known just yet, but one thing is for sure. They are definitely not safe. For one thing, E-Cigarettes contain nicotine – the same addictive chemical found in cigarettes. Second, they could expose you to the same cancer-causing chemicals as cigarette smoke – like formaldehyde. And third, because of their unique aerosol delivery, E-Cigarettes can deliver toxic metals, like lead and nickel, deep into your respiratory system. 3 strikes and you’re out E-Cigarettes. • What Is Naloxone?

Naloxone is a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. It is an opioid antagonist—meaning that it binds to opioid receptors and can reverse and block the effects of other opioids, such as heroin, morphine, and oxycodone. Administered when a patient is showing signs of opioid overdose, naloxone is a temporary treatment and its effects do not last long. Therefore, it is critical to obtain medical intervention as soon as possible after administering/receiving naloxone.  The medication can be given by intranasal spray (into the nose), intramuscular (into the muscle), subcutaneous (under the skin), or intravenous injection.  A practitioner should assess the need to prescribe naloxone for patients who are taking methadone or buprenorphine receiving or otherwise considered a risk for opioid overdose.
