Breaking the Stigma of Addiction: Free Community Event
Three week presentation series, free to all community members, on January 10,17, and 24th from 6-7:30. The focus is educating the community on a variety of issues related to addiction and breaking the stigma attached to addiction. It is sponsored by the Ursula House in Central Lake and hosted at the Pelican Room Event Hall 10555 West Old State Rd Central Lake (it's at the intersection of Old State and NE Torch Lake Dr).
- Fact: There are over 23.5 million people in long-term recovery in the U.S. from a substance use disorder. People do recover and get well.
- Fact: 167 Reported OVERDOSE Reversals with Naloxone Project- As of September 2020
- Fact: DEA National RX Take Back Day reported 33,343 lbs of Prescription drugs collected in Michigan on October 24, 2020 with 207 Collections sites now In Michigan.
